UMU’s interactive platform allows you to engage and interact with participants via their mobile devices and project the responses in real time. In most training environments, there are usually too many participants to give everyone the chance to share their views with the whole group, and the people brave enough to speak up don’t necessarily add the most to the conversation. With UMU, everyone participates, so you can accurately gauge your audience and identify common interest topics.

UMU is a global platform with collaborators from all over the world! Our goal is to bring our improved interacting experience to everyone. We currently have staff and partners in the US, Japan, Ireland, China and Hong Kong. Reach out if you are interested in bringing the benefits of real time visuals and participant engagement to your area!

As a friendly reminder, cancellations are due no less than 5 days prior to the program. Pre-Paid registrations will not be refunded after the fifth day and pending confirmations will be invoiced with payment due upon receipt. This policy will remain in effect as an effort to cover catering expense and unsold seating created by holding your reservation. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Photos are often taken during the program meeting to be used for newsletters, the website and marketing purposes.  If you prefer not to appear in the image, please let the photographer know at the meeting.

    Sticky Learning!

    Wednesday, Jan. 18, 1-2pm EST

    Location:  World Wide Web

    ***** FREE *****

What makes learning sticky? Learning embeds itself when learners are invested in the training we offer them, and apply it outside of the learning session. It remains sticky when there are supports that enable that beyond the classroom or elearning session.

In this workshop we will look at the ways we can design learning for stickiness, then involve managers in the application of the learning afterwards. We will use experiential, discovery learning and problem solving techniques to ponder where we are today, and consider how we can bring stickiness into our own systems.

In the end, you will know what makes learning sticky and be able to develop a learning experience that transfers.

Founded in 1977 in Southern California, our core business is training trainers: how to manage the learning and development function, how to design effective learning, how to facilitate training with impact...the whole train-the-trainer process. Of course, we also practice what we preach and offer a full range of professional development courses as well.

We have trained over 170,000 people on five continents with the help of our phenomenal team of 20 Certified Master Trainers located across the US and three International Licensees.

From our founding, we have evolved and grown to be the trusted partner of choice for learning and performance professionals worldwide.

    • To model state-of-the art design, facilitation, and management of learning through workshops, certificate programs, on-line training and webinars, performance consulting, coaching, publications, training products and job aids.
    • To provide practical and useful tools to make the job of the learning professional easier and more beneficial to the organization.

    Training Doesn't Work if

    Performance is the Goal!

    Tuesday, April 11, 1-2pm EST

    Location:  World Wide Web

    ***** FREE *****

It’s likely this looks NOTHING LIKE the world you are in!

    Once upon a time, learners:

    1.  Attended full-week workshops.
    2. They had others who backed them up so they could be fully focused on the learning.
    3. When they returned, their boss and team expected them to be competent in the new things learned, and...
    4. They were expected to apply what they learned immediately.

If you get a chance to go to an all day workshop away from the office, you are constantly interrupted by work during the day thanks to email and other media, and you are twice as overwhelmed when you return the next day. The likelihood that performance will change is becoming less and less.

If you’re a person who believes that our duty is to help people perform better and make more impact at work, this realization is tough to accept. It’s time to step up, revisit how we deliver performance change and rise to the opportunity to truly improve productivity and engagement.

Join Lou as she shares ideas, rubrics and tactics to move into the next evolution of learning and development.
